Q & A
Q: How do you start your day?
A: After getting up, give yourself 10 minutes to bring your focus back to yourself. Don't touch your phone, feel the presence of the moment, and feel the flow of your blood. Think about what your goals are, then execute. Consider what kind of person you want to become and what things will make you happy. Then take a deep breath, exhale, do some visualization training, and motivate yourself to move towards your goals, encouraging yourself to keep pushing forward.
Q: Where do you usually hang out the most?
A: Athletic fields and places where you can run, as long as the road conditions are not too bad, can be used for training. Maybe I'll be running right beside you! (laughs) I train almost every day because I want to become a professional athlete.
Q: What is your most frequently visited restaurant?
A: The place we visit most often is the dining table at home. We care a lot about what we put into our bodies, whether it's fresh or if there are any artificial seasonings added. After all, it's something that goes into our bodies, so preparing our own meals is more reassuring. During holidays with family or gatherings with friends, we often go to Smokey Joe's. The menu is very rich, and the decor and furnishings inside are quite unique. I believe many people in Kaohsiung have eaten there!
I absolutely love their garlic bread!! It has a crispy exterior and a soft interior, and it's the best garlic bread I've ever had. The corn tortilla platter is also highly recommended; the tortilla chips are very crispy, and the salad is very fresh. The key is the sauce on top, the combination of salsa and bean dip with cheese is refreshing and has a rich cheese flavor, super delicious!

Q: What is your entertainment after work?
A: Training takes up most of my time, but whenever I have the chance, I try to spend time with my kids and family, arranging outdoor activities as much as possible. I don't want my kids to become too dependent and lack a spirit of adventure, so on weekends, I take them to run in the mountains and go to the sea.
Q: What is a book you recently read? What insights or thoughts did you have after finishing it?
A: "A New Earth" by Eckhart Tolle, after reading it, my thoughts have changed quite a bit.
For labels like "genius runner," "model," or "athlete," they don't matter. Throw away others' labels; I know who I am. Learn to recognize the true self. We all have many selves within us, many voices, but sometimes we can take a moment to think: is that the real you? If a person can find their essence, then you will have limitless potential, and the journey of exploring yourself never ends.
Q: As an athlete and a mother, how do you balance work and training?
A: Just three words "find a way". Every day I am readjusting my time allocation. My work is relatively irregular, but I focus on the present and make the most of my time to get things done. When I am training, I do not think about my child, and when I am with him, I definitely put my phone aside and focus on playing with him. Balancing these roles is not easy, but there will definitely be a way.
Q: Running has brought me numerous benefits, including improved physical health, mental clarity, and a sense of accomplishment. It has also helped me build resilience and discipline, which are valuable in both my athletic career and personal life.
A: Running, for me, is a microcosm of life. In life, there are experiences of disappointment, happiness, perseverance, and pain, all of which can be faced in just a few hours, allowing me to understand myself better each time I run. In pain, one is forced to grow and learn; running is no different. When you break through your limits, you will find a stronger version of yourself.
Q: What advice do you have for friends who want to try long-distance running?
A: First, take it step by step and don't rush. This is a long-term sport, and results won't be seen in a short time; it's about gradual accumulation. Always pay attention to your body's signals, and if you feel discomfort or pain, you need to adjust your exercise volume. Regarding equipment, I don't recommend buying what elite athletes use, as it may not be suitable for you. At the beginning, you can join a running group; there are many similar groups on FB that organize running activities together, which is more fun and motivating, allowing you to keep going.
Long-distance running requires willpower; it is a tough sport. During training or competitions, thoughts like "I'm so tired! I can't run anymore" or "I really want to give up" may occasionally cross your mind. When these thoughts arise, don't let them affect you. I know it's difficult (laughs), but you can think about what you truly need and then persevere. You will see yourself making progress bit by bit.
Q: What do you think is the most interesting or attractive place in Taiwan?
A: Taiwan is not very large, yet it has everything, whether it is big or small hills or vast oceans. These are natural landscapes beyond my imagination. The point is that Taiwan also has many peaks over 3000 meters, such as Xueshan, Yushan, or Jiaming Lake. These magnificent mountains provide you with a broad view that will release your body, mind, and spirit. Everyone should take the opportunity to explore.
What do you look forward to the most when staying at a hotel?
A: The convenience of transportation at the hotel, whether there are convenience stores and MRT stations nearby. I do not seek luxurious facilities or avant-garde designs; I hope returning to the hotel feels as relaxed and comfortable as coming home.
Q: What is your impression of the hotels under the Taipei Hotel brand?
A: Unlike a hotel, this place feels more like a mini art gallery. The New Stay Hotel on Fuxing North Road has different floors showcasing the works of various artists, making the whole building feel like visiting several exhibitions. The front desk staff provides thoughtful and friendly service, maintaining a certain standard of quality. For me, hotels in Taipei offer a great sense of security.
